2,422 students clear National Rural Talent Search exam in Odisha

The State Board of Secondary Education, Odisha had conducted the National Rural Talent Search (NRTS) examination on August 24, 2014 at 100 exam centres across the state.

Around 2,422 students had cleared the NRTS examination. A total of 24,545 students of class 7th had appeared for the examination.

Board had announced the NRTS results on October 14, 2014.

A student, Abhilash Das, from Saraswati Sisu Mandir, Baunsuni, Boudh District has secured first rank in the examination with 93% of marks.

NRTS examination is conducted for offering scholarships to the students.

Board president, Dr Dakshya Prasad Nanda said that the candidates who have cleared the NRTS exam would be eligible for scholarships of Rs 250/- for three years.
