Supreme Court has granted permission to conduct EAMCET 2014 2nd round of engineering counselling for 174 engineering colleges in Telangana on October 29, 2014.
As per the order, counselling will be applicable only for Telangana state and would be limited only to students who had not joined any college till date.
SC also directs these 174 engineering colleges in Telangana can admit the students under management quota and also convenor-quota will be filled by the colleges.
According to the SC verdict, these colleges can admit the students without any interference from APSCHE and TSCHE. Admission process should end by November 15, 2014.
TSCHE chairman T Papi Reddy has said, "Neither APSCHE nor TSCHE has anything to do with the admission process of the 174 colleges that had been derecognised earlier by the state government."
APSCHE chairman L Venugopal Reddy said, "The colleges have to finish the process by November 15 as per the judgment. The details of vacant and filled-up seats after the process should be submitted to APSCHE."
Supreme Court had ordered the engineering colleges to submit the list of details pertaining to enhancement of facilities for students in those colleges before December 31, 2014.
