13.03 lakh aspirants registered for JEE Main 2015 exam

The number of aspirants registered for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2015 has been dropped by over 50,000.

As per the reports, around 13.03 lakh candidates have been registered for the JEE Main 2015. In 2014, it was around 13.56 lakh.

Experts say that this could be a warning and indication of interest in the engineering field. More than 2 to 3 lakh engineering seats were left vacant across the country.

The last date for the JEE Main 2015 Registration was on December 27, 2014. The registration dates have been extended for the Manipur state students up to January 10, 2015.

According to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, which is the conducting body for JEE Main 2015, the number of registrants may go low by few thousands, but it doesn't make any difference.

A total of 1.86 lakh out of 13.03 lakh aspirants have chosen online exam. Last year it was 1.71 lakh.
