10 lakh candidates to write TN SSLC exam 2014

Around 10 lakh candidates are appearing for the Tamil Nadu state SSLC / Class 10th examination on 26th March 2014 at 3,179 centres.

The SSLC examination would begin at 9.15 AM and students will be given time until 9.20 AM to enter the examination hall.

The examination would end at 12 noon.

A total of 10,38,876 candidates are appearing for the SSLC examinations. The students from 11,552 schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be writing the examination.

In Chennai, 56,556 candidates from 588 schools would be writing the examination in 207 exam centres.

As many as 57,157 candidates from 583 schools would be writing the examination from Vellore and Tirupattur districts.

Over 20,000 students from Puducherry and Karaikal regions would be writing the SSLC examinations.

Around 7,31,430 students would be writing Tamil paper.

The bar-coded answer sheets, transport of question papers and dispatch of answer scripts to the valuation centres and seating arrangements would be the same as in the case of the Plus Two examinations.

The question papers will be sent through 'route officers'. Examination centers will see surprise visits from District Examination Committees formed under the Collectors. The flying squad has around 5,000 members. The examination centres will have generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
