A total of 1.5 lakh candidates have registered for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET 2014).
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is all set to conduct KCET 2014 on 01st, 02nd and 03rd May 2014.
KCET 2014 is conducted for admission to first year undergraduate courses like Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy, Engineering / Technology and Agriculture courses, for the academic year 2014-15.
The examination will be conducted in 287 examination centres across the state, of which 69 centres are located in Bangalore. Of the total students, 40,000 will take the exam in Bangalore, and 1,1 lakh students will appear in 218 centres outside Bangalore.
The examination will be conducted in two sessions, first session will be held from 10.30 AM to 11.50 AM and second session from 2.30 PM to 3.50 PM.
The KEA has also requested the police department to make elaborate security arrangements by deputing sufficient number of police personnel to all examination centres on both days.
The KEA has issued instructions to candidates to carry the admission ticket and read the instructions printed behind it. Students are requested to be present at the centre at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam.
There is no hike in the fee for professional courses across the state for the academic year 2014.
A total 89,000 engineering, 5,400 medical and 2,500 dental seats are available for admission in the colleges across the state.
