In a remarkable feat that underscores its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in higher education, KIIT Deemed to be University has achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings for 2024. Ascending to the 11th position in India, the Bhubaneswar-based institution has demonstrated its robust academic credentials and innovative educational practices, outperforming older and more established institutions, including several IITs.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy given KIIT's age of just 20 years, highlighting its rapid rise in the competitive educational landscape.
KIIT's global standing has also seen a considerable uplift, with its position moving up to 168 from the previous cohort of 151-200. This year, 673 universities around the world were evaluated, with 55 being from India, making KIIT's ranking a testament to its excellence on a global scale. The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings assess universities less than 50 years old on their core missions, including teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, placing KIIT in the elite top echelon of young universities.
The university's progress in the rankings reflects its dynamic approach to education, which focuses on academic rigor as well as the holistic development of students. Faculty, students, and staff at KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have expressed their gratitude towards Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose visionary leadership has been key to KIIT's impressive trajectory. Dr. Samanta's dedication to providing world-class education and preparing students to be global leaders has been pivotal in achieving this rank. He acknowledged the collective effort of all teachers, staff, and students in reaching this milestone, stating, "This ranking is a reflection of our relentless pursuit of academic excellence."
