Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education (KBHSE) was founded in 1965, primarily with the intention of promoting education in all facets of society. “Reach the Unreached” in Kerala through a normal or private education is the organization's motto. Also, the KBHSE focuses on interacting with the often ignored socioeconomic and religious groups. Students in Grades 1 through 12 receive formal education from the board. It also conducts open examinations for classes 10 and +2. The Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education's main duties include upholding the standards and guidelines established for the Kerala Board-affiliated schools. Other newly added responsibilities include overseeing and carrying out tasks including setting curriculum, creating study plans, administering tests, giving guidance and support, and affiliating universities.

The Government of Kerala has announced the examination schedules for both Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary Education (HSE) for the academic year 2026. The timetables have been released by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan and the Directorate of General Education (DGE), respectively.

The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan has released the tentative Kerala SSLC Class 10 Exam Timetable 2026, with board exams scheduled to be held from March 3, 2026, to March 26, 2026. The Directorate of General Education (DGE), Kerala, has also released the Higher Secondary Education (HSE) Class 12 Timetable 2026. As per the official notice, the Kerala HSE Exams 2026 will be held from March 6, 2026 to March 28, 2026, at examination centres across the state.

Exam Timings: 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM (some papers till 12:15 PM)

Practical Exams: To be conducted before theory papers
