Dr. Mohan Yadav was voted as the state's next chief minister by newly elected BJP MLAs in Madhya Pradesh. The BJP won 166 seats in Madhya Pradesh earlier this month in a resounding victory. Mohan Yadav is victorious in the 2023 elections by almost 13000 votes.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science and then went on to study law. His master's degree majored on Political Science, and Yadav also earned a Ph.D. He attended Vikram University in Ujjain.
His political career began in 1984 when he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and he has since become an influential leader linked with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Throughout the late 1980s, Yadav rose through the political ranks, eventually becoming the Department Head of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Ujjain. Yadav continued to contribute to the academic and civic arenas in the early 2000s, serving as a Member of the Executive Council of Vikram University, Ujjain, and as Municipal District General Secretary. His dedication to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was clear when he was elected to the State Executive Committee in 2004 and served on the Central Committee of Simhastha in Madhya Pradesh.
Since 2003, all three BJP chief ministers in MP have come from the Other Backward Classes: Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Chouhan. OBCs account for around 48% of the population of MP. Earlier, three BJP central observers, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, arrived in Bhopal on Monday to attend a gathering of newly-elected party MLAs and vote on the state's future chief minister. Following the November 17 elections, the BJP retained control in MP, capturing 163 seats in the 230-member assembly, leaving the Congress a distant second with 66 seats.
Mohan Yadav represents the Ujjain Dakshin seat in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the same seat for the first time in 2013. He was elected to the same assembly seat in 2018 and 2023. Shivraj Singh Chouhan's government also includes Mohan Yadav as a cabinet minister. When the BJP government was created in 2020, Mohan Yadav was re-appointed as a minister, and he is now the state's new Chief Minister.
