World Photography Day 2022 is a yearly celebration of the art of photography and its contribution to changing the world for the better. Photography is both an art and science. Science for the novice who needs rules and guidelines to master the craft, and art for the masters to carve out a niche, to put them far above everyone else.

What is World Photography Day?

History of the World Photography Day 2022

August 19, 2010, was the first World Photography Day ever celebrated. On this occasion, almost 270 photographers uploaded their images to a global online gallery. People from over 100 countries saw and appreciated these images.

Why August 19 was chosen as World Photography Day?

It was on this very date that the French government bought the patent for the Daguerreotype method. This method was dubbed a "gift to the world" as it enabled the world to make detailed photographs without needing negatives.

What is World Photography Day?

Eligibility Criteria for Photography Courses:

Being passionate about clicking pictures isn't enough, you must have the artistic and creative ability to bring a moment to life with it.
10+2 is the minimum qualification for getting admission to photography courses. Stream doesn't matter, passion does. You'll be judged based on either an entrance test or a given assignment. There are multiple courses ranging from a few-month certificate to a 1-year diploma. Select universities offer an undergraduate course too.

How much can you earn after doing a course in photography in India?

You can join some media house, a photo agency or an advertising group. Or you can also do freelance photography as wildlife, wedding, fashion or sports photographer. Possibilities are endless! Depending on your level of skill and experience, you can earn anywhere between 5-10 lakhs per annum or even more.
