Every October 12th is World Arthritis Day (WAD), a global campaign launched by Arthritis and Rheumatism International (ARI) in 1996. WAD's objective is to bring awareness to approximately 200 rheumatic and musculoskeletal illnesses (RMDs), many of which go unnoticed despite having a substantial, albeit silent, impact.

This annual campaign strives to not only raise awareness about the impact of these disorders on people's lives, but also to educate people about their symptoms, preventive actions, and the significance of early diagnosis in order to manage future complications. The day acts as a unifying platform, bringing individuals from all over the world together to advocate for greater support and treatment choices for those afflicted by RMDs.
