Hailing from Talcher town, nestled in the Angul district of Odisha, Pradhan started his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in his hometown. Following his love of technology, he attended the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela and graduated with a degree in Computer Science.

At the age of nineteen, Odisha native Animesh Pradhan got wrapped up in a tragic accident amid the bustling corridors of his college. After his father passed away, he was left searching for integrity, which sent him into a grief storm. But before he could calm down, another upheaval hit in the form of his mother's cancer diagnosis.

Even though the hardships he faced could have easily crushed him, Animesh made a different decision. Motivated by love and tenacity, he used his struggles as stepping stones toward a worthy objective. He set out on a mission to become an IAS officer, a beacon of hope for himself and his entire town, with his mother as his inspiration.

Animesh established a lasting impression on Odisha's history with his remarkable accomplishments to this day. His extraordinary achievement of achieving an AIR-2 in the UPSC CSE 2023 is proof of his unyielding willpower and calm spirit. Amidst the joy, there's also a hint of melancholy since his mother, who died right before he was going to become famous, is no longer with him.

More than just a story of individual success, Animesh's path is an account of tenacity and resiliency that speaks to all aspirants. In addition to ending a two-decade drought in the UPSC ranks of Odisha, his triumph gives numerous aspirants hope.

Animesh never wavered in his pursuit of perfection despite the enormous obstacles he had to overcome. He devoted himself fully to his passion, juggling his demanding training with his duties at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), where he worked as a B.Tech (Computer Science) graduate from NIT Rourkela. He ultimately achieved his goal of getting the coveted AIR-2, a result of hard hours spent poring over books, an unyielding faith in his ability, and a dogged pursuit of knowledge.

Greetings from all directions were received when word of his accomplishment spread widely. Animesh's victory thrilled the Chairman of IOCL, who took to 'X' to congratulate him on his amazing achievement and describe him as an exceptional IOCian who overcame all obstacles to succeed. Driven by the legacy of his mother's blessing and the steadfast support of his alma mater, NIT Rourkela, Animesh's journey has only just begun as he sets his eyes on serving the country and impacting lives.
