The Ministry of Railways has issued a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Engineers (JE). The recruitment notification was released for a total of 14,033 vacancies. Candidates who hold a degree/diploma in engineering are only eligible for the position. The shortlisted candidates will be appointed across various zonal divisions and production units of the Indian Railways.
In order to get shortlisted, candidates need to appear for the written examination. There shall be two stages computer-based test (CBT) followed by document verification and medical examination. The selected candidates will get INR 35,400/- per month along with other allowances.

When lakhs of budding engineers are all set to appear for the RRB JE computer-based examination, the competition for the exam will not be a cakewalk. Aspirants are suggested to start their RRB JE preparation with the right books. Candidates are also advised to check the RRB JE examination pattern prior to exploring the preparation books which will provide an overall understanding of the subjects.
The selection of the candidates will be made through two stages of computer-based test (CBT). The examination pattern for RRB JE CBT-I and II are as follow.
