History of National Startup Day 2024

The inception of National Startup Day took place on January 16, 2023, as declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The inaugural celebration of National Startup Day occurred on the same date. Consequently, it can be characterized as a relatively recent commemoration.

During the event's inauguration, Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of startups as the backbone of new India. These enterprises played a pivotal role in elevating India's position in the Global Innovation Index from 81 to 40.
