LIC AAO Selection Process
The selection of the candidates for the post of Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) in LIC will be done through a three-tiered process and subsequent Pre-recruitment Medical examination. It consists of the online written test (preliminary and main) and interview. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary are eligible for the main examination. The final merit will be based on marks obtained in the Main examination and interview.

Preliminary Examination (Phase-I)
The English language will be of qualifying nature and the marks obtained in this section will not be counted for ranking. Candidates equal to 20 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main examination.

Main Examination (Phase-II)
The LIC AAO Main examination will consist of objective tests for 300 marks and descriptive test for 25 marks. Candidates need to answer the descriptive test by typing on the computer. The Professional Knowledge in the place of Data Analysis & Interpretation is the only difference between AAO Generalist and IT/ Chartered Accountant / Actuarial. The language test will be of qualifying nature.

Interview (Phase-III)
Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for shortlisting the candidates for interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination and interview.
LIC AAO Syllabus
Reasoning Ability: Coding-Decoding, puzzles, seating arrangements, order and ranking, inequalities, blood relation, direction sense, syllogism, machine input-output, data sufficiency, alpha-numeric-symbol series and logical reasoning.
Quantitative Aptitude: Data interpretation, inequalities, number series, data sufficiency, simplification, approximation and arithmetic problems (average, ratio and proportion, work and time, HCF and LCM, profit and loss, SI & CI, problems on ages, speed distance and time, probability, etc.)
English language: reading comprehension, cloze test, fillers, sentence errors, sentence improvement, jumbled paragraph, word usage, phrase/connectors, synonyms and antonyms.
