Karnataka Rajyotsava Award: Karnataka state is all geared to commemorate its 66th year of inception in the post-pandemic scenario. The Kannada Rajyotsava or Kannada Day or Karnataka Rajyotsava as it is known is reminisced and observed on November 1 every year with pomp and zeal. Karnataka came into existence or formed in the year 1956 on linguistic grounds, when all Kannada speaking regions were compounded together into one based on the idea and foresight of Aluru Venkata Rao, a revolutionary Kannada Laureate, popularly known as Karnataka Kulapurohita.

One of the key highlights of the Kannada Day or Karnataka Rajyotsava in addition to the unfurling of the official State flag or the Karnataka Dhwaja; ceremonial address from the Chief Minister and Governor and a host of community and cultural programs that set in the carnival is the Rajyotsava Prashasti or Rajyotsava Award which is presented to a select few for their outstanding contribution to Kannada language and Karnataka in diverse fields.
