The 33rd edition of the International Kite Festival was recently inaugurated at Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad, by Gujarat's CM, Bhupendrabhai Patel, and Governor, Acharya Devvrat. The event witnessed the presence of numerous country representatives and state ministers. According to the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, more than 125 kite flyers from over 68 countries, including India, are participating in the festival. The theme for this week-long celebration is "One Earth, One Family, One Future."
While the primary event unfolds in Ahmedabad, kite flying competitions will be held in various other cities across Gujarat, such as Vadodara, Rajkot, Vadnagar, Somnath, Rajkot, and Dhordo. Access to the kite flying area is restricted to participants, but visitors can attend the festival for free.

The International Kite Festival has been an integral part of the Uttarayan celebration since 1989, attracting professional kite makers and flyers worldwide to collaborate. The objective is to promote tourism and showcase the cultural richness of the state.
