Vikram, the Lunar Lander of India's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3, is expected to make a gentle landing on the Moon's surface this month. On August 11, Russia will launch its first lunar landing spacecraft in the race to the moon. The mission will take place four weeks after India launched its Chandrayaan-3 lunar lander, which will be expected to land near the pole on August 23.

For the first time in nearly fifty years, Russia aims to return to the Moon. The launch, slated for early Friday morning (August 11), will be Russia's first since 1976. For the launch of the Luna-25 lander, a Soyuz rocket had been built at the Vostochny cosmodrome in Russia's Far East. The four-legged lander, which weighs around 800 kilogrammes, is planned to arrive near the lunar south pole.
Both missions would be exploring the Moon's South Pole, and if everything goes well, Luna-25 will be the first craft to land on the Moon's South Pole. The time required to reach the Moon is one of the most critical parts of Russia's mission. The Moon is approximately 384,400 km away from Earth. Russia may get to the Moon in around ten days.

Chandrayaan-3 mission
The Indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-3 is a large-scale project. The goal of this mission is to land a lander and rover near the Moon's south pole and demonstrate end-to-end landing and roving capabilities. Chandrayaan-3 is also a sequel to Chandrayaan-2. Russia's Luna-25 mission
The Luna 25 mission, also known as the Luna-Glob-Lander, is a Russian lunar lander mission scheduled to launch on August 11, 2023. The mission's primary goal is to explore the composition of the polar regolith as well as the plasma and dust components of the lunar polar exosphere.

Lander design

The Luna 25 lander has a four-legged base that houses landing rockets and propellant tanks. Solar panels, communication equipment, onboard computers, and scientific instruments are housed in an upper compartment.
