How To Crack The IBPS RRB Preliminary Exam In One Month?

IBPS RRB application process has closed. It's high time to focus on preparing for the exam. Here are the tips to crack the exam in one month.

The countdown for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) has begun with the closure of the online application process. The IBPS has released the recruitment notification in the month of June for the posts of Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Office Assistants (Multipurpose).

The online preliminary examination will be conducted only for Officers Scale-I and Office Assistants (Multipurpose). Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the online main examination, which is scheduled in the month of September for Officers Scale-I, II & III and October for Officer Assistants.

Prep Tips To Crack IBPS RRB In One Month

The preliminary exam strategy should be different from the main examination because marks scored here will not be considered for the final merit score. Hence, aspirants should focus on scoring above the cut-off score in the preliminary exam. Here are the tips to crack the IBPS RRB in one month.

Study With IBPS RRB Exam Pattern

The section-wise preparation strategy is the best way to deal with examinations such as the IBPS RRB preliminary exam. The online exam consists of only two sections, namely, reasoning and the numerical ability for Office Assistants and reasoning and quantitative aptitude for Officers Scale-I. A total of 80 questions will be asked and the duration of the exam is 45 minutes.

As the English language and general awareness sections are listed only in the main examination, the preliminary focus should be more on the other two sections for this exam. Hence, we suggest aspirants focus on the exam pattern while preparing and/or practising.

Opt Section-wise Preparation

As the IBPS RRB preliminary exam consists of only two sections, the organisers will put forward their best to present the tricky and lengthy questions. Though the last month should not be kept for reading concepts, devote some time to it to avoid ambiguity over the concepts. Take a section and try to master all the concepts including the formulae and shortcuts.

Know The Weightage

Frankly, it is tough to clear the preliminary round compared to the main examination because of the massive competition. It is advised to know the weightage of the topics to clear the examination. Solving the previous years' question papers might help you with the weightage of the topics.

Never Take Practise Lightly

Be it any aptitude examination, practise plays a crucial role in helping you ace the exam. Always look for different types of question formats and practise them accordingly. One should solve at least one full-length question paper daily during the last month.

Acquaint Yourself With Online Exam

Not acquainting yourself with the online mode is one of the areas that will pull you away from the competition. Most of the aspirants do their best to master the concepts and practise solving questions. The online exam will be different from the offline preparation. Take enough online mock tests to get familiar with the pattern. It is also suggested to take mock tests at regular intervals during the last month.

Important Topics In IBPS RRB Preliminary Exam

The important topics for both Office Assistants and Officers Scale-I are almost similar but vary on the question format and difficulty level. The important topics in the quantitative aptitude/numerical ability are simplification, approximation, number series, quadratic equations, data interpretation and arithmetic section. While coming to the reasoning section, inequalities, syllogism, directions, puzzle solving, coding & decoding and sitting arrangement are important.

The above-mentioned are some of the tips to crack the IBPS RRB preliminary exam 2018. We will be publishing the preparation tips for both the sections individually real soon. Stay tuned!
