Essay on National Constitution Day for Students

National Constitution Day is a day of honour for every Indian because it commemorates the adoption of our constitution. After India gained independence from British rule in August 1947, there was a strong desire to develop and integrate our own constitution. Everything seemed haywire back then, and there was a desperate need to make it all methodical. The Constituent Assembly of India established a creating Committee, which was tasked with creating the country's constitution. The drafting committee was chaired by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

They built India's constitution after analysing the country's socioeconomic status and other factors. The Indian constitution went into effect on January 26, 1950, despite the fact that it was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949.

The Indian Constitution is one of the world's largest constitutions because its drafter drew inspiration from the American, British, and Japanese constitutions. It is possible to say that the Indian Constitution is a synthesis of the best constitutions from around the world. The Indian Constitution provides and guarantees a few fundamental rights to citizens, which the state and federal governments must apply in practise and in spirit. Any injury to the nation's democratic and secular fabric should be criticised, because harm to India's democracy harms the country's constitution.

The various government departments observed the inaugural National Constitution Day. The Department of Education and Literacy requires that all students in all schools study the preamble to the constitution. Through lectures in each school, children were also informed about the key features of the Indian Constitution. In addition, quiz and essay competitions on India's constitution were held both online and offline. The Department of Higher Education directed that mock parliamentary discussions be held in colleges at several universities.

The decision to designate a day to our country's constitution is an attempt to emphasise its significance and the need of adhering to it. The constitution was written to ensure a methodical approach to running the country. It provided leaders with guidance and enforced fair play. Some of the clauses of the constitution have been changed since then to keep it current. The mechanism for amending the constitution is outlined in the Indian constitution.
