Dr. Manik Saha completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Government Dental College, Patna, Bihar. His undergraduate medical education laid the foundation for his long-standing career in dental healthcare and academics.

After completing his BDS degree, he went on to specialise in advanced dental surgery.

Master Of Dental Surgery (MDS)

He earned his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from King George's Medical College, Lucknow, now known as King George's Medical University.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is considered one of the most specialised branches in dental sciences and focuses on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects related to the mouth, jaw, face, and neck region.

Career In Healthcare And Medical Education

Before stepping into full-time politics, Dr. Saha established himself as a respected dental surgeon and academician in Tripura. He served as Professor and Head of the Department of Dental Surgery at Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital in Agartala.

His contribution to medical education and public healthcare helped him gain recognition in both academic and professional circles across the state.

Even after becoming Chief Minister, Dr. Saha has remained actively associated with healthcare development initiatives. He has frequently participated in programmes related to medical infrastructure, healthcare awareness, and professional training.

Political Journey

Dr. Manik Saha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2016 after previously being associated with the Indian National Congress. He later became the president of BJP's Tripura unit and emerged as one of the party's key leaders in the Northeast.

In 2022, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha and subsequently took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Tripura on May 15, 2022.
