What Is India Offering?

Over 19,000 seats are present across more than 2500 courses with more than 9500 seats having a fee waiver.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria and qualification of the course vary from one institute to the other. The prospective international students have to log in and opt for the course they want to enrol in from the displayed colleges on the respective official website.

What Are The Visa Regulations?

The Indian government will issue student visas to those who come to India for an education at a recognised institution. This includes the study of yoga, Vedic culture and Indian system of dance and music. The government will issue the visa for up to five years, which can be extended depending on the course. However, the visa fee ranges from $13 to $118.

English Proficiency Is Required?

The prospective international students should be proficient in English because all the courses will be taught in the same language. One who is aspiring to apply should have a functional knowledge of English.

Study In India Scholarship

There are two scholarships under this programme are General Scholarships Scheme (GSS) and Scholarship Programmes for Diaspora Children (SPDC).

How Much Does It Cost To Study In India?

Compared to other countries, India is one amongst the most economically viable countries for foreign students. The cost of living is also very cheap. Here are the average living expenses:
Eating out - $24 to $70 per week
Utility bills - $4 to $10 per week

Where To Stay?

The respective institutes will provide accommodation to the prospective international students. Accommodation options vary from one university to another. The different universities will have either of the following facilities such as international hostels, combined hostels and the option to live outside.

The primary objective of the Study in India programme is to target foreign students by promoting India as an attractive education destination. According to the sources, the government has decided to spend INR 150 crores for the Study in India programme for two years, 2018-19 and 2019-20.
