WBBSE Opens One-Time 24-Hour Enrollment Window for Madhyamik 2026

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has announced a special one-time 24-hour enrollment window for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Class 10) 2026. This emergency provision comes just days before the board exams, giving eligible students one final chance to complete their registration and appear in the examinations.

Why This One-Time Window?

Several Class 10 students were left out of the initial enrollment process due to administrative lapses or errors by their schools. These mistakes meant that their names were not registered for the Madhyamik 2026 exam, which could have prevented them from receiving admit cards and ultimately from writing the test. To ensure no eligible student is denied the opportunity to sit for the exam, the board has opened a special 24-hour online window to complete the process.

Window Period & Eligibility

  • Enrollment Opens: 12:00 PM, 27 January 2026

  • Enrollment Closes: 12:00 PM, 28 January 2026

  • Who Can Apply: Class 10 students who have passed Class 9 and maintained the minimum required attendance but missed registration due to school errors.

This is strictly a one-time opportunity and schools are responsible for submitting correct documentation through the WBBSE online portal before the deadline.

How Enrollment Must Be Completed

Students must complete the enrollment process through their respective schools. The steps generally include:

  • School logs into the WBBSE student enrollment portal
  • Required student details and documents are uploaded
  • Applicable fees are paid online

The original enrollment report, signed by the student and countersigned by the school head, must be submitted to the WBBSE office in Salt Lake, Kolkata, after online filing is complete.

This special window ensures that eligible students are entered into the official list for the upcoming Madhyamik exams.

What Happens After Enrollment?

Once the enrollment is successfully completed within the 24-hour window:

Madhyamik 2026 admit cards will be issued to the newly registered candidates

Admit cards and Attendance-Sheet Registers (ASR) documents are scheduled for distribution around 29 January 2026

Students can collect them from the WBBSE office during official hours before exams begin
The Madhyamik Pariksha 2026 is scheduled to start on 2 February 2026 and continue till 12 February 2026.

Board's Warning to Schools

The board has made it clear that schools are accountable for adhering to the enrollment guidelines. Any institution found negligent in managing student registrations may face disciplinary action, reaffirming that lapses that affect a student's academic future will not be tolerated.

Final Takeaway

This extended 24-hour enrollment window is a critical last opportunity for eligible Madhyamik candidates in West Bengal who missed the initial registration cycle due to no fault of their own. Students and schools are advised to act promptly, complete the process correctly, and ensure all documentation is in place well before the deadline.
