The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the UGC NET 2023 Notification soon on the official website. The UGC NET June 2023 notification is expected to be released in the month of April 2023.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the responsibility of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to ascertain the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor' in Indian universities and colleges.

UGC NET Notification 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should satisfy all the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria before applying for the exam. In case, it is found that they have furnished incorrect/fake details in the UGC NET application form then it will lead to disqualification of their candidature.

Age Limit: The age of the candidates should not be more than 31 years as of the prescribed dates. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants for JRF posts.

However, there is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have secured at least 55% marks (50% marks for reserved category) in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from
universities/institutions recognized by UGC.

How to Apply for UGC NET 2023

Follow the steps shared below to apply online for the UGC NET 2023 without any hassles.

1 Go to the official UGC NET website.

2 Click on the "UGC NET Apply Online" link on the homepage.

3 Register yourself by using your own Email Id and Mobile No.

4 Then, log in with the credentials and fill out the complete application form.

5 After that, upload the required documents in the prescribed format & pay the application fees.

6 Then, download, save and print a copy of the confirmation page of the application form for future reference.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2022

Candidates should be familiar with the UGC NET Exam Pattern before commencing their preparation. As per the previous year's UGC NET notification, the overview of the exam pattern is shared below

The UGC NET Exam shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
The exam will consist of two papers.

Both papers will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between papers.

Paper I will carry a total of 50 questions for 100 marks, whereas Paper II will carry 100 questions for 200 marks.

Paper II is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess their domain knowledge.

The medium of the Question Paper shall be in English & Hindi only.

As per the UGC NET marking scheme, for each correct response, the candidate will be awarded 02 (two) marks and there is no negative marking for an incorrect response.
