RRB Group D 2022 Exam Analysis of Shift-1: Know how many marks you may need to qualify to the next round

1.15 crore candidates have applied for RRB Group D Exam 2022, and only one among a hundred is expected to finally get the job. As a reminder, Railway is trying to fill 103769 vacant posts across various units through this exercise.

  • There were 100 questions to solve within 90 minutes; the duration was extended to 120 minutes exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
  • For those who aren't aware, one is said to be a PwBD if s/he has blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected - BA) and cerebral palsy

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Marks
  • Mathematics: 25 Marks
  • General Science: 25 Marks
  • General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 Marks

  • Duration: 90 Minutes; 2 hours for physically challenged candidates

Highlights of RRB Group D 2022 Exam Shift-1

  • The Computer Based Test (CBT) test was organized across different cities in India.
  • Questions were Objective Type MCQ and candidates were required to attempt as many as they can.
  • There was 1 mark for each right answer while one wrong response can set you back by 1/3 mark.
  • Students were forbidden to leave the examination hall/room before finishing the test.

Important Points to Remember after RRB Group D 2022 Shift-1 Exam

  • Railway will call thrice the number of candidates than the total vacant posts for PET.
  • Railway will select these candidates purely based on their performance in the test.
  • The 3:1 ratio is tentative and Railway reserve the right to decide how many candidates to call for the next round.
  • PET round will further reduce the number of shortlisted candidates by 2:1.
  • That means 2 candidates will be called for every vacant post in the final round of document verification.
  • Needless to say, only half could finally make it to the railway payroll.
