Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid down the foundation stone of AIIMS Bilaspur in October 2017, and the hospital has been established under the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

PM Modi will visit Himachal Pradesh today at around 11:30 am to inaugurate AIIMS Bilaspur and also to lay the foundation stone of other development projects, and he will also take part in the Kullu Dussehra Celebration today.

An official statement said Prime Minister Modi will lay the stone foundation for the development projects worth over 3,650 crore and will address the public in Himachal Pradesh.

1. According to the Prime Minister's office (PMO), the hospital, whose foundational stone was laid by the Prime Minister in October 2017, is being established under the Central Sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Surakasha Yojana,
2. The All-India Institute of Medical Science was constructed at a cost of Rs.1,470 crore and is a state-of-the-art hospital with 18 specialty and 17 super specialty departments, 18 modular operation theatres, 750 beds with 64 ICU beds.
3. AIIMS, Bilaspur is expanded over 247 acres and it is equipped with 24 hours emergency and dialysis facilities, modern diagnostic machines like Ultrasonographic, CT scan, MRI, etc.
4.The hospital is also providing Centre for Digital Health for tribal and inaccessible tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh. Every year, the PMO stated that it will admit 100 students to the MBBS course and 60 students to the nursing course.
