PM launches 5G Services in the country

PM has launched today, October 1, 2022, 5G service in India. On this occasion, all the 3 premier telecom operators - Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea - showed how 5G can revolutionize things through different demonstrations.

• Airtel demonstrated a students enjoying a lively and immersive learning experience using Virtual reality and Augmented reality.
• The Vodafone Idea test case displayed real time monitoring of work in an under-construction tunnel through Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality and how the 5G can be utilized to minimize accidents.
• Reliance Jio connected a teacher to students in three different locations demonstrating the power of Augmented Reality (AR) without the need for an AR device.

• 5G offer way faster and more reliable communication network as compared to current 4G
• We will be able to connect billions of Internet of Things devices with 5G
• It will ensure delivery of critical services such as telesurgery and autonomous cars
• Real-time monitoring of disasters will become a reality
• Minimising the role of humans in dangerous industrial operations such as in deep mines, offshore activities etc.
