BIMTECH launches a 2-year online Management Program with a specialisation in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Birla Institute of Management Technology, BIMTECH has launched a 2-year online Post Graduate Diploma in Management course with a specialization in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (PGDM-LSCM).

This job-oriented skill-learning programme aims to churn out skilled manpower for the rapidly growing Logistics & Supply Chain Management industry in India. The course aims to equip learners with the skills and expertise required to get a rewarding career in the industry. Students will learn things like strategic and tactical frameworks, domain knowledge, and other various aspects of the industry.

As per industry estimates, the logistics industry was valued at USD 250 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow by 10-12 per cent per year. The usage of Big Data, the Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence will enable the sector to grow to ₹492.4 billion by 2025.

• The programme would be delivered via state-of-the-art Interactive Learning (IL) platform and includes Virtual Live Classroom Sessions, e-Learning Modules, simulations, gamification, industry visits, assignments, etc.
• The course is recognized by AICTE.
• BIMTECH is one of the only two universities in the country to have received Category 1 Graded Autonomy.
• BIMTECH has got this honour in February 2020.
• XLRI Jamshedpur is the second one.

In the biggest-ever Coal Mine Auction in India; 141 Mines auctioned

The Auction is going to benefit 12 coal-producing states directly such as Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Bihar. The coal ministry declared that the coal imports for the power sector have come down by 41% thanks to the increase in local production. The centre is expecting a record 900 million ton of Coal Production this year.

IIT Madras collaborates with Purdue University to offer a dual-degree Master's course in semiconductors

Undergraduate students with high academic credentials and a keen interest in semiconductors, chip fabrication, and circuits-and-system will be shortlisted for this course. Two universities seek to establish research collaboration in areas such as chip design, system architecture, semiconductor supply chain management, packaging, and advanced manufacturing methods. What is a dual degree? A dual degree program means that a student can pursue two different degrees at the same time from either the same university or two different universities. The concept of a dual degree is very popular in Europe and is now making its way to India as well.

Imran khan narrowly escapes assassination attempt; is injured but out of danger

The former PM of Pakistan - Imran Khan - suffered a bullet injury in the right leg when the assassin fired a volley of bullets at him and others. Imran Khan was addressing a political rally from a container-mounted truck in the Wazirabad area of the Punjab province at that moment. 1 person has been killed while 14 are wounded in the attack. The assassin has been nabbed and the enquiry is underway.

Ethiopia government is about to sign a peace treaty with rebels; ending a bloody and deadly two-year civil war

The government has already signed a “permanent cessation of hostilities" pact with the rebel organization named Tigray People's Liberation Front party and the talks are on for a complete peace agreement. The ongoing civil war in the Tigray region of the country has seen thousands of people killed and lakhs of people displaced. The treaty is said to have achieved a complete surrender and disarmament of the rebels; though the terms of the treaty is not yet public. Just so you know, Ethiopia is the second-most populous country in Africa.

NATO urges Turkey not to object to the inclusion of Finland and Sweden in the NATO

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has requested Turkey to set aside its reservations over Finland and Sweden's inclusion in the largest military alliance of the world - NATO Why Turkey objects to their inclusion as a full member of NATO: Turkey wants Finland and Sweden to crack down on anti-Turkey individuals and organizations such as Kurdistan Workers' Party. KWP - a banned organization in Turkey - is accused of orchestrating a failed coup in Turkey in 2016. Turkey is a member of NATO since 1952.
