World Science Day for Peace and Development: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced World Science Day for Peace and Development in 2001 following UNESCO 31 C/Resolution 20. Every year on November 10th, people worldwide commemorate the value of science in society. The day emphasises the importance of science in society and the requirement to involve the general people in discussions of cutting-edge scientific issues. Additionally, it emphasises the value and applicability of science in our day-to-day life. This theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development 2022 is "Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development".

PM Narendra Modi unveils G20 logo

To communicate the nation's message and priorities to the rest of the world, PM Narendra Modi has unveiled India's logo, theme, and website for its G20 presidency. The earth is perched atop a lotus in the G20 logo, which was designed using the four colours of the Indian flag. The logo's seven petals stand for the seven seas and the meeting of the seven continents during the G20 summit in India in 2023. The G20 India 2023 theme, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future," is derived from the earth's reflection of India's pro-planet philosophy of life.

MoEF gives clearance to Strategic important project

The huge multi-development projects worth Rs. 72,000 Crs that the Center is pursuing in Greater Nicobar island, India's southernmost point and an important strategic location, have received environmental approval from the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The initiative had received in-principle permission from the ministry the previous year. The MoEF has authorised the removal of almost 8.5 lakh trees and the diversion of a little over 130 sq kms of forest area for the project. The project will likely impact the coral reef and mangrove cover in the vicinity.

More than 130 seals found dead on Caspian Sea Beaches

Five nations form the border of the Caspian Sea, the world's biggest inland body of water: Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkmenistan. Overhunting and the impacts of industrial contamination have long been a problem for the Caspian Sea's seal population. The Caspian seal, the only member of its species found in the Caspian Sea (the largest inland body of water in the world), was added to the Kazakh government's list of endangered species in November 2020.

Solar Power Report

According to the report, China accounts for the majority of the predicted USD 34 billion in savings, as solar energy met 5% of the country's total electricity demand and prevented an extra USD 21 billion in coal and gas imports over the time period.
