PM Modi launches 5G services which will be made available in 200 cities in next 6 months. In first phase, 5G will be launched in 13 cities- Bengaluru, Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune.

AFSPA extended in Nagaland & Arunachal Pradesh

The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for another six months. AFSPA gives the power to armed forces to maintain public order in “disturbed areas”.

Card Tokenization

Tokenization is a process by which card details are replaced by a unique code or token, which allows online purchases without exposing sensitive costumer's card details. The RBI clarified that it would not extend the October 1, deadline for implementation for tokenisation of card based payments.

UNESCO has released a list of 50 exclusive and iconic heritage textile crafts of the country. Some of the documented textiles are- Himroo weaves from Hyderabad, Toda embroidery and Sungadi from Tamil Nadu, and Bandha tie and dye weaving from Odisha etc.
