IIT BHU Varanasi offers a four-year BTech Ceramic Engineering programme. This course educates and trains students in Ceramic and Glass science and technology. Additionally, IIT BHU provides an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) in Ceramic Engineering.

This five-year programme awards both BTech and MTech degrees.
Students gain technical knowledge in traditional ceramics, including glass, pottery, porcelain, and whiteware. They also learn about cement, refractories, and furnace technology. Admission to both BTech and IDD Ceramic Engineering programmes is through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

Placement Statistics:

Last year, the Mean CTC for graduates was Rs 24.11 lakh per annum. The highest CTC reached Rs 40.18 lakh per annum. The increment percentage was 68.71 per cent.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible candidates for the programme include those with a BTech or equivalent degree in:

  • Ceramic Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering and Technology
  • Materials Science and Technology
  • Silicate Technology

Additionally, candidates with an MSc in Physics, Electronics, or Chemistry with specific papers in Solid State, Electronics, Physical, Inorganic, or Solid State Chemistry are eligible, provided they have passed the BSc/BSc (Hons.) exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
