Types of Mountaineering
Walking

Roles of a Mountaineer
Climbing Guide
A climbing guide will help amateurs in scaling the mountains. He has to be aware of the weather conditions in order to be able to predict land slides and temperature change. He also knows routes and the nook and corner of the mountain to be able to take the clients to wherever they want.
Liason Officer
This is an official appointed by the government to help co-ordinate with the village headman to provide sufficient facilities for those who want to trek.
Porter
Some times, a porter is required, especially when the journey on the mountains gets tedious. SO porters help other people to carry their baggage and burden all the way through the mountains. Usually, people from a specific ethnic group get into this profession.
