Xavier Institute of Development Action and Studies, Jabalpur was established in 1995.

It is owned and run by the Society of Jesus, an international organization that is globally acclaimed as one of the outstanding educationists.

Xavier Institute (XIDAS) works in close collaboration with some of the reputed Management Schools within India and abroad, such as: XLRI, Jambshedpur, IRMA, Anand, XIM, Bhuvaneshwar, XISS, Ranchi, LIBA, Loyola College, Chennai and Vlerick School of Mangement, Ghent, Belgium.

It believes in non-violent methods to make its mission a reality and is prepared to collaborate with all people and organizations of similar interests and values.

Xavier Institute is eager to contribute to the building up of a new world order, where everyone has a place and, therefore, it has opted deliberately to side with the poor and the marginalized, who live in the villages and cities of India.

XIDAS, Jabalpur is located at a sprawling campus of about 9 acres. The entire campus has been developed esthetically. It has separate buildings for the academic activities, hostel for women, hostel for men, staff residence and guest house.

The Institute is located at a distance of about 8 kms from the Jabalpur Railway Station. About 300 persons can be accommodated at a time in these hostels. The Institute has three Computer Labs, with over 100 high capacity (Pentium IV) computers and licensed softwares.

The entire computer network is connected to the Internet, with a high-speed broadband connectivity provided by BSNL.

The Institute has three Libraries MBA Library, PGDM Library and Central Library-cum-Documentation Centre.
