Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies was established in 1998 by S.C. Vats, following a meeting he had with Swami Jitatmananda in 1997 which told him he should establish an institute of higher education in New Delhi in the name of Swami Vivekananda.

The institute is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and recognized by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956.

Over the years, the institute has shown a remarkable growth in terms of a number of courses offered as well as students intake every year apart from creating a niche for itself with its all-around performance in the University exams.

It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute also certified with ISO 9001:2015.

The VIPS has an eco-friendly 5 acres lush green campus, with ultra modern, centrally air-conditioned, edifices and state of art infrastructure.

It is a Wi-Fi enabled campus with cloud computing powered ‘Learning Mangement System’ (iLearn). Classrooms are well lit with natural light.

At present, the institute offers various courses in different streams with well-qualified faculty members along with modern facilities.
