Vidyasagar Institute of Education, Technology & Research (VIETR), Hooghly was established in 2003.

Its Affiliated To West Bengal University of Technology.

It is a private aided college. This is a premier institution of IILM Academy of Higher Learning, a registered Charitable Trust, which provides world class education in the fields of management and technology and is actively involved in promoting education.

Along with an excellent academic ambience, the emphasis here is on quality education through various teaching aids and over all development of the students through different interactive sessions.

The Institute aims to provide quality education and in stimulating innovation in technology, management & system. The objective of the Institute is to expand the boundaries of human knowledge and benefit society through research oriented education.

The college is well equipped with all modern facilities. The College comes under the University of Burdwan. This University was started in 1960 with Sukumar Sen as its first Vice-chancellor. It occupies an exalted place amongst the universities of West Bengal.

It has been awarded with 4 star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to acknowledge the contribution of Burdwan University in the educational development of the state.
