V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women (VVVC), Virudhunagar was established in 1962. Its Affiliated to Madurai Kamraj University.

It was founded by Shri V.V.Vanniaperumal Nadar with a singular objective of empowering rural women through higher education.

The history of V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, a temple of learning founded by a great visionary Shri V.V.Vannaiaperumal Nadar with a singular objective of empowering rural women through higher education, is a saga of human excellence, endurance and commitment for five decades.

Having started with a meagre strength in 1962, the institution has grown by leaps and bounds into one of the reputed women's colleges in Tamilnadu. The strength has reached 4117 students of which 2047 are admitted in aided courses and 2013 are admitted in self finance courses. The college offers 22 UG courses, 14 departments and 122 in the self finance departments. There are earnest and enthusiastic 183 in the aided departments and 122 in the self finance departments. There are earnest and enthusiastic 183 non-teaching staff (29 in aided and 154 in self finance). The college became an autonomous institution in 2009 and it was reacreditedd with 'A' GRADE (3rd cycle) in 2018 by NAAC.

The founding vision of the College is to impart Quality Education to rural womenfolk and to empower them with knowledge and leadership quality.

The Mission of the VVVC is to impart liberal education committed to quality and excellence. Its quest is to mould learners into globally competent individuals instilling in them life oriented skills, personal integrity, leadership qualities and service mindedness.
