UP King George's University of Dental Sciences, Lucknow was established in 1952 under King George's Medical University.

It was the first such university in the country which later was reverted back to the Faculty of Dental Sciences.

The institution has till date trained about 3300 graduates and 1200 postgraduates.

There are 9 departments, 43 faculty members, and an annual intake of 70 bachelors in Dental Surgery students.

Besides the bachelor’s and master’s in Dental Surgery courses, certificate courses in Dental Hygiene and Dental Mechanics are also offered with 20 seats in each course but at present these courses are stopped by court order.
