Jawahar Foundation and Research is a trust established in the year 1999 and registered On 1st  March 1999 at Madurai . The Trustees Vision and Mission is Nation Building Activity by empowering the rural Youth of India.

Theni College Of Arts and Science is established by Jawahar Foundation & Research at Theni, Veerapandi, a Holy Temple Place  of Lord Gowmariamman. It is located on a sprawling 32 acres of land surrounded by green fields, coconut groves adn Western Ghats.

The college buildings, hostels, laboratories, play grounds and gardens are laid out tastefully and functionally by architects, experienced academicians and educationists, rendering the premise a right place for living, learning and working.

Land Area of about 10 Acres in the survey Nos.: 927 and 929 at Veerapandi village Theni District has been owned  by the trust to establish Sourashtra College of Education and Sourashtra Teacher Training Institute. A permanent Building has been constructed to run the two courses (D.El.Ed and B.Ed.)

This institute is well connected to Theni, Cumbum, Bodinayakanur, Periakulam, Kodaikanal and Madurai by frequent bus services. The college also runs own buses for the benefit of its students and teachers.
