Tagore College of Education, Salem was established in 1986 by the generous and noble hearted philanthropists of the Southern Educational and Rural Development Society with a strong intention of promoting rich education in the tender minds of the rural pupils.

Tagore College of Education founded at Deviyakurichi has grown as a mini Shantiniketan.
