T.K.M College of Arts and Science, Kollam was established in 1965 by the visionary philanthropist Janab Thangal Kunju Musaliar.

The college was declared open by Prof. Samuel Mathai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kerala, on 24th June 1965.

The college, today is an acknowledged premier institution in the field, has been accredited as a B+ institution by the NAAC.

The prestige it commands today in the academic community comes as no surprise when one traces its illustrious beginnings.

The college was a force to reckon with by the time she came to celebrate her Silver Jubilee in 1990.

TKM College Trust came into life almost half a century ago when the President of India laid the foundation stone of TKM College of Engineering, the premier engineering institution in Kerala, it was the humble beginning of a great tradition that is rooted in learning.
