Swami Vivekananda College of Education for Women (SVCEFW), 24 Parganas is a Women’s college and offers Bachelor of Education course.

With effect from the academic session 2005-2006, the University of Calcutta accorded affiliation to a new B.Ed. College named “Swami Vivekananda College of Education for Women” on self –financing basis. The college is sponsored and managed by Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission , a philanthropic Society registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act,1961, with headquarters at 7, Riverside Road, P.O-Barrackpore, Dist.-North 24 Parganas, Kolkata-700120.

By Order no.ERC/7-76.(II).1/2007-8181, dated May 24, 2007, the Eastern Regional Committee, National Council of teacher Education, Bhubaneswar, granted recognition to the College for Conducting one year B.Ed. Course With an annual intake of 100 students. With effect from the academic session 2008-09 the college stands affiliated to the newly formed West Bengal State University, Barasat, North 24 Parganas, Now the college has been presently affiliated to WBUTTEPA and offering 2 years B.Ed Course. With an annual intake of 50 students.

The college provides qualified lecturers to impart their experience to the students, which would help them in accomplishing their objective.

The college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) & formerly affiliated to University of Calcutta. From 2008-09 sessions; the college has been affiliated to West Bengal State University. The college has all the modern facilities to help the students in acquiring the skills of a teacher.

The College is managed by Ramkrishna Vivekananda Mission and help in the development of women in the society.
