Swami Girishanand Mahavidyalaya, Kannauj was established in 1987 by the devotion of Honorable Swami Grishanand Ji to spread the light of knowledge in higer education.

But due to some obstacles, former Vice Chanceller of C.S.J.M University Kanpur agreed to start the session in July 1996-97.

Not only Tirwa Nagar but also whole area got benefitted from the establishment of this college.

The main objective of the college is to spread the importance of education in public defending the principles of Indian culture without any discrimination of caste, community, color and creed and to educate whole citizens.

The principles and doctrines have been taken for the establishment of this college, those will be continued by teachers and the students towards improving education system in the society.
