Sushil Kar College(SKC), South 24 Parganas was established in 1968 & affiliated to the Calcutta University.

The college was founded to promote the higher education in this back ward region. The aim of the college is to provide quality education and excels in areas pertaining to their all round development and up gradation of society at large.

The college offers undergraduate courses in Arts and Commerce stream. All academic activities are carried out in accordance with the Calcutta University.

The college is associated with the experienced teachers to help the students in achieving their goal and the college is well equipped with all modern facilities.

The college is set in a huge campus of 327 acres amid the serene and verdant plantations of Mahua, Sal and Piasal ideally suited for education. The College has adequate physical infrastructure (land and building) that comprises class rooms, faculty rooms, laboratories, library, computer centre, hostels, canteen, play grounds, indoor games facility and residential quarters. Laboratories - The College has separate laboratories for all subjects i.e. Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physiology and Zoology. All laboratories are well equipped to meet the requirements of teaching and learning as per the syllabus. Library - The college has got a library very rich in books and journals related to different subjects.
