St. Joseph's Degree & PG College, Hyderabad is a Catholic Christian Minority Institution was established on 14th November 1996 but came into existence in  1997 and managed by Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society.

The college functions under the Grace Most Rev. Thumma Bala, Archbishop of Hyderabad. St.Joseph’s College, being a Minority Institution, reserves for itself its inherent and Constitutional right (Art.30 (1)) with regard to Management and Administration.

The college is affiliated with Osmania University, Hyderabad and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in 2007 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.49 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 24th September 2014.

The aim of the college is to provide the best choice for parents and students for its enriching multidimensional experience of holistic learning, leading to a bright future for the students.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Hyderabad played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college was inaugurated with undergraduate courses only for boys but later, it was converted into co-educational.

As a self-financed college, located in the heart of Hyderabad city on the sprawling 1.5-acre campus, it runs six programs at UG and three programs at PG level and has obtained permanent affiliation of the Osmania University in 2007.

The college got Autonomous status by University Grant Commision in 2017.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The college offers the undergraduate programme in Arts, Science and Commerce also offer postgraduate courses in Commerce stream with various specialization under Osmania University, Hyderabad. It also offers Add-On Certification, Interdisciplinary courses & Bridge courses.

The college has its own selection process unlike other colleges under Osmania University, Hyderabad. The college has an online application process where prospective applicants are expected to fill in their interests and academic achievements.

Admission has been done when seekers who have registered with the University are eligible for admissions in the college.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
