St. Joseph's College for Women, Visakhapatnam was established in 1958 and was recognized by UGC in 1960 and in 1987 the college was granted the autonomous status.
St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), a Catholic minority institution, is managed by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, France.
The college, affiliated to Andhra University, with six members of teaching staff and 28 students in the Pre-University course.
