St. Joseph's College (SJC), Bangalore was established in 1882, is one of the oldest colleges in the State of Karnataka with a history of more than 130 years behind it.

It has been accredited by the NAAC with A grade securing 3.73 out of 4 GPA.

As a mark of recognition for its exceptional contribution to higher education, the Government of India recognized the college with a postal stamp and a first day cover in the year 2008.

In 2004, the college was declared as a College Of Potential Excellence by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Vision and Mission:

The educational objective of St. Joseph’s College is to prepare men and women for the service of the country.

The College provides students with plentiful opportunities to critically understand society and its structures so that education becomes a tool to work for a human and just society.

Stress is laid on academic excellence, character formation, social concern and human development.
