St. Ann's College for Women, Hyderabad is a Catholic Minority College, (informally known as St. Ann's) was established in 1981 but came into existence in 1983 by the congregation of the sisters of St. Ann.

The college is affiliated with Osmania University, Hyderabad and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (2nd Cycle) on 5th January 2013.

The aim of the college is the empowerment of the girl student through academic excellence, skill enhancement, and value enrichment and tune with the objectives of higher education and strives to provide a synthesis of academics and ethics, inclusive growth and increased employability with global competencies.

It was a woman private college provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Hyderabad played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college started its functions with 2 undergraduate courses with the strength of 106 students in the year 1983. At present, the college has a strength of over 2800 students and 120 well-qualified staff members, belonging to as many as 28 different departments.

The college has maintained high academic standards with more than adequate infrastructure and has become the reputed and most sought-after institution in the last three decades.

The college autonomy was conferred on the college by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2014.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports, and curricular activities under the Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The college has been awarded gold medals of Osmania University, the college has instituted gold medals for the top rankers in B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com and silver medals for proficiency in each subject every year.

The college has been awarded the prestigious college with a Potential for Excellence grant by the University Grants Commission in 2010.

The college offers three years undergraduate and two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management stream with various specializations under the Osmania University, Hyderabad. It also offers Post-graduate Diploma and Add-On Certificate courses.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad and various other examinations are held in the college premises. The admission criteria for the college is strictly based on Merit and Written Test.
