SSM College of Engineering & Technology, Srinagar was established in 1988. The college is affiliated to Kashmir University.

SSM College of Engineering was established in 1998 through the persistent efforts of ‘Gnanathandhai’ SSM Subramaniam, an industrial conglomerate.
SSM College of Engineering headed by the Chairman ‘Cavalier’ Dr. M. S. Mathivaanan and having placed in the highly industrialized zone of South India, is recognized as one of the best engineering colleges in South India. Our students have prospects of taking part in a noteworthy range of activities through academic courses taught by renowned professors, research and public service opportunities, and an extraordinary breadth of extracurricular activities. The College prepares students to take on the great challenges of the day and become the next generation of leaders under the guidance of Principal of SSM College of Engineering.

The College was conceived by the altruistic industrialist and seer exemplary, Shri.SSM Subramaniam and founded by the S.S.M. Foundation Trust in 1998 aimed at providing world class education in Engineering and Technology, fostering industrial prosperity and aiding the socio-economic development of the nation at large. Granted permission by the Government of Tamilnadu, the college, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
