Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies - Universtiy of Delhi, Delhi, is a constituent school of Universtiy of Delhi, was established in August 1987 by the Delhi Administration on the initiation of UGC and the Ministry of Human Resources as the first collegiate business college in India.

The college was under the Faculty of Management Sciences, imparting education in the fields of management, finance and information technology.

The college at present affiliated with Universtiy of Delhi, Delhi and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade.

The aim of the college is to focus on education and research, entrepreneurship and innovation also offering training oriented towards producing highly qualified practitioners and researchers.

It is a co-educational public institute, providing regular courses in which is located in the urban part of Delhi played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

College At A Glance:

The college was established as College of Business Studies under the aegis of the Delhi University in 1987.

In 1991, the College of Business Studies was the first college in Delhi University to adopt the semester system, for its BBS course, also SSCBS is the only college in the Delhi University to offer the BFIA course in 1999.

Later the BBS courses have been transformed to form BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), which is directly under the aegis of FMS (Faculty of Management Studies), the University of Delhi in May 2013.

The college was rechristened as 'Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies' in 1997, after Indian revolutionary Sukhdev Thapar who along with Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru became part of independence folklore.

SSCBS is known for its Society Culture throughout in Delhi University with around 30 societies, which is highest in entire Delhi University.

The college was earlier an off-campus college of Delhi University located in Vivek Vihar but now has joined the list of the prestigious colleges of North Campus of Delhi University after shifting to its new campus at Rohini, North Delhi.

The institute also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under the affiliating university.

The institute has been rated one amongst the top govt. B-schools in India and received the 289th rank among top B-School in the NIRF.

At present, the institute offers Management courses at postgraduate levels by offering various specializations under the affiliating university and offers programs leading to an award of Ph.D. in various disciplines.

The admission process for BMS and BFIA course is different from the regular cut-offs based on Class XII results, as followed in other colleges of the University.

The college offers Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial and Investment Analysis) and Bachelor of Science - Computer Science (Honours).

Students are admitted to postgraduate courses on basis of their Common Entrance Test (CAT) test & Joint Entrance Test (JAT)
scores which are conducted by the affiliating university on an annual basis.

The institute has its also own selection process unlike other colleges under affiliating University. The institute has an online application process where prospective applicants are expected to fill in their interests and academic achievements.

Admissions here done are based on the merit obtained by the aspirants with the minimum aggregate of 50% in their previous courses in the relevant field.
