Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhopal was established on December 23, 1974, by Sri Sathya Sai Baba managed under Sri Sathya Sai Institutions.

The college is affiliated to Barkatullah University, Bhopal and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on March 27, 1982, & 12(B) August 1, 1983, under Act, 1956.

It was also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (in 2nd Cycle) on September 14, 2016.

The college was started with just 21 students, 5 teachers, and a single faculty - Arts with five subjects in a shed in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)township. The BHEL community, secular in its outlook, enjoys wide exposure to modern science and technology.

The new building was formally inaugurated and the students and staff were blessed by Swami during His Divine visit to Bhopal on 13th April 1982.

At present, the offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams with various optional specializations.

Vision and Mission:

The daily routine of the students and teachers should be a combination of the academic and spiritual aspect of education

The day should begin with prayer and meditation.

Talks on spiritual subjects, elocution and a spiritual quiz to be organized regularly
