Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Gandhi Teachers’ Training Institute, Coimbatore was established in 1942.

The College is managed under Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya & institute is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education.

The Institute is a nodal center of Tamil Nadu Open University for training pre-primary teachers (weekend courses). Students are trained to conduct personality-development and value-education programmes in schools to which they go for teaching practice.

The Vidyalaya strives to infuse the educational and spiritual ideas of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda into the daily lives of their students. Universal values such as self-reliance, self-control, patriotism, service and dedication to duty are taught in various practical ways.

A band of dedicated monks and brahmacharis of the Ramakrishna Order manages the activities of Vidyalaya assisted by a highly professional and dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff.
